| I was responsible for the design and execution of this set. Part of the job is also training the students to use the lighting and sound equipment. Students programmed both consoles. |

The staircases were rolling wagons that split in the middle. We laid the treads out and routed the inside and outside radii. Then the treads were framed to fit, legged and then castered. The inner and outer skins were luan and then covered in foam stones. | |

The sand dune wagon was also framed platforms that sat on rolling studwalls. We built up with foam and carved to imitate sand dunes. Then the unit was base coated with paint, and then we glued sand on top. The unit folded in half for storage. | |

The portal was constructed of Hollywood flats, and skinned in 1/4" luan. We swung a huge arc and the cut out the opening shape. We then covered the flats in polystyrene and then carved the foam. | |
