The grid box was constructed of 1x2 and 2x2 box steel. Each wall is in smaller panels and were bolted together during loadin. |
|
| Each wall was assembled on the ground and then gray scrim was stapled to wood strips that had been tek screwed to the back of the box. The circular pieces were commercially bent and were welded together in the shop. | ![]() |

The staircase was also made out of steel. The carriages were also commercially rolled. The only wood on the staircase are the treads. The designer also wanted the least amount of legs holding the staircase up. Thus there are only 3 steel posts.
| The main deck was raked. From each side of the deck there were ramps that sloped offstage. | ![]() |

The downstage ramps were covered in carpet underlayment and cheesecloth. Sand was glued on in the shop, and later during load in sand was poured over the front half of the ramps.
| The upper desk platforms are stressed skin platforms that are made of 5/4" framing, 5/8" ply top lids, and 1/2" ply bottom lids. These platforms spanned some 14 feet. | ![]() |

To the right you see some of the support structure for the upper deck. Along the front set of legs is a 2x4 piece of box steel. The same thing happens at the rear set of legs. There is also some upstage, downstage bracing between. In the end the whole upper platform was tied in to the back wall.
| To the left are the ramps that were on each side of the raked deck. As you can see it was built in multiple parts because the ramps sloped in two directions. | ![]() |
