The bulk of the automation in
this show dealt with the unit to the left. It was a five panel
Austrian curtain. The curtains needed to operate
individually, as well as operating as one whole curtain. The
system was run by a series of Goddard Analog Winch Units. |
|
| Each curtain was run by a 1 HP motor with a 40:1 gear reducer. (The outside curtains were clued together.) So in total there were 4 axes on this piece. |

The truss itself was a 12 inch by 18 inch rectangle box. The webs were 1/4" pencil rod. It hung from the high steel in the space 5 feet in from each end. | |
| Five runs on unistrut were hung within the truss. Each one had a carrier that all the lift lines were tied off to. The 5th piece of track was for the end drapes that were clued together. Roller chain terminated to the clue on one end and aircraft cable on the other. |
