Numerous units in this show tracked on and offstage.  The designer wanted the quietest shift as possible.  The Technical Director and his assistant did some research and found the track to the left. It is called Triple E track.  I welded the track  in shop with carriers ordered from London.  It provided a quiet smooth ride.

Two lifts like these were used in the show.  They made burning journals appear and disappear.  The guides were ordered while the rest of the frames were built in shop by the Master Carpenter.  Counterweight was attached to the lift and it was operated by a stagehand.
There were three portals in this show.  Each was compound mitered at the  corners.  The scenic unit you see ,center, is a plexiglass type material called lumasite.  Behind the lumasite seams are 1/2" plexiglass strips that each sheet can bolt to.
