The newspaper drop was a series of broadway flats that were stiffened with box tube. There was a seam down them middle of the wall, and the horizontal breaks were at every four feet.  The cover was a FR piece of seamless muslin.  This piece was hung from the top, flats and soft goods, and then was flown out in four foot increments.
The flag units were constructed of 2" T-Bar that was sleeves and bolted together. The flags were muslin covered masonite.  The star drop was monofilament with various shaped crystals tied to it.
The Smokestack unit was a challenging piece.  It is  elliptical and conical.  It was made in three units that were stacked on top of each other.  It was constructed of plywood ribs, skinned in 1/8" luan and skim coated.  This unit was winched by hand  in the upstage track and had two pivot points, which the actors manipulated.

The clouds were Hollywood constructed flats.  Framing was held back on the onstage side and was backed with polystyrene foam.  These units were operated by stage hands.  Each Cloud was hung on a piece of ADC 220 track.  The top of each cloud had a flat truss hanger built in to it which allowed for easy tensioning on each side.

These are some photos of the rep rake that we built for the season.  Pitch of the rake was 3/8" for every foot.  Two tracks were built in to the deck to allow for scenery to come in and out of each lane.
